The European Union approved on Thursday a proposal to delay a 10% tariff on electric vehicles in trade with the UK until December 2026 from an original date of entry into force on January 1, 2024. The delay of the tariff by three years will give EV manufacturers in the EU and the UK more time to comply with the local content requirements for electric vehicles and batteries under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement.
